Ryūshin Gensho (Richard Jones)
Ryūshin Shindō Genshō (Richard Jones) Roshi, has been a Zen Buddhist practitioner since 1985. Originally a student of Daido (Yamahata) Hogen Roshi (Abbot of Chogen-ji, Japan; founder of the 'Open Way Association), taking Jukai-precepts in (03/1998), then later with Daisetsu (Harada) Tangen Zenji dec. (Abbot of Bukkoku-ji, Obama-shi, Japan), taking Tokuda in (17/0109). After Tangen Zenji’s passing, Ryūshin did an ango with Tenshin Fletcher Roshi, Yokoji Zen-MC. Ryūshin switched to Rinzai, believing that the structured approach was more appropriate for the U.K. He studied with Shinzan Miyamae Roshi and Daizan Skinner Roshi, beginning lay teaching as a ‘Zenways’ Meditation and Mindfulness teacher (2015). He later transferred to 'ZenSpace', becoming a Junior Zen teacher (07/12/17), Senior Zen-teacher (24/08/19) and Roshi (14/04/21), under the direction of Ryūsen Jikai (Barbara Gabrys) Roshi. Ryūshin Gensho continues his studies under the direction of Ryūsen Jikai Roshi, following the teachings of Shinzan Miyamae Roshi in the Hakuin-Inzan line of Rinzai Zen. Ryūshin Genshō facilitates ‘Sheffield ZenSpace’ and 'ArrivingHome' integrating Zen, Yoga, Tai-Chi and Qigong practices.
